Hollow Knight

The best metroidvania there is. I had this in my library just sitting for months after playing for 1 hr. But then I saw a mobile port for this game and decided to give that a chance which was the best choice I ever made. I completed the whole game twice on the mobile port and completed it in the PC once and going crazy with the wait for its sequel. I do not typically get engaged to a game's story that much. But hollow knight expresses the game's story beautifully in a way that just leaves you wanting more ( I even bought the wanderer's journal book ). The story is wonderfully conveyed through the background and short dialogues from the various lovable NPCs throughout the game. The world and the characters feel really alive.

When I first got Hollow Knight, I thought it was just another platformer. But as I played and explored the game, I realized there was such a deep story behind it. While playing, you feel completely immersed in the world; it's captivating from start to finish. Sometimes it’s so challenging that even if you say you're not addicted, you find yourself thinking, "How can I not get past this part?"

I’ve never played a game that has felt more fun to control or more rewarding to beat enemies in. The story is good but you could beat this entire game without knowing what youre doing at all. The story requires your active participation to understand, so read the dialogue, read the signs, do the due diligence, lazy bones!

no words can describe how much I love this game. Everything is just perfect. And if you get it on steam you can mod it and play randomizers and fan made DLC once you complete the main story. I highly recommend

One of the cleanest, most lore filled, and entertaining games I have ever played. To start, the art and overall atmosphere is beautiful, and they convey the setting of different areas very well. Animations for enemies, bosses, and the player are also very well made and unique. Regarding fighting and gameplay style, Hollow Knight really captures the essence of a Metroidvania game. Though the player has simple attacks and dodging mechanics, the way that each boss incorporates those techniques makes each of them have a purpose. Boss (and even regular enemy) attacks were often challenging, yet completely fair (e.g. Sisters of Battle). When completing a challenging boss/pantheon, I always felt a sense of satisfaction rather than relief, since there were no factors of luck involved in determining the outcome of the fight. The soundtrack is also amazing, and it, along with the artwork, creates a truly immersive environment. Overall, I would highly recommend Hollow Knight to anyone, since its balance of story, setting, and gameplay make it perfect for anyone to play.

This is so goated that people still love it after so many years . But hollow knight silksong is taking forever.
