Before anything , you need to know that in this post, I'll talk ONLY about the Android version.
Keep in mind that I'm not part of the development and I am not involved in the idealization nor creation of it, I'm a player, just like everyone else here.
Mindustry is developed and programmed by one person, anuken. You can feel the care and Kindness he placed here.
It's important to criticize every type of entertainment media we use to promote Improvement but it's also important to those who are in the other side, trying their best to improve the game.
Mindustry is not finished. Anuken is working in the V8 version of Mindustry, Wich will bring new content so we'll unlikely receive new updates until then. Even though we're not getting new updates, I began playing Mindustry for over months and didn't experienced any sort of bugs or glitches. That's just a personal experience so I can't promise you that you'll get 0 bugs.
So, the gameplay is very intuitive. At the campaign mode, you'll notice the loop of "building mining blocks > unlocking new technologies with the ores you mined > building different types of blocks for different purposes > creating defenses for the enemies waves > and moving to another sector when you want"
Some players love the campaign mode and other players loves the multiplayer mode.
The campaign mode brings you 2 worlds: Erekir and Serpulo.
Serpulo is the first released world and provides a "classic" mindustry gameplay.
Erekir is the new campaign planet and it provides a whole different world base and a lot more technologies than Serpulo.
Mindustry does have a huge amount of content but for some, this gets boring quickly. For me, I can play mindustry 3 hours everyday and never get bored, it depends on the player taste.
I don't know if you'll like it, but i think you should try playing it. The Android version is free, it doesn't cost a lot of space and you can easily uninstall if you don't get a liking.
